Cosmichrome

Mirror chrome that goes on through a spray gun. No plating tank, no shipping parts out of state, and it works on plastic as happily as on metal.

What it is

Chrome without the plating shop.

Traditional chrome is electroplating. The part has to be metal, it has to leave your hands, and it comes back weeks later. Cosmichrome is a spray applied finish that gives the same mirror without any of that.

  • Goes on plastic, fiberglass, resin and metal
  • Tint it and you get candy chrome in any color you want
  • Smoked, colored or straight mirror, your choice at the mixing stage
  • Empire is a certified Cosmichrome applicator

How it happens

Three stages, all of them here.

A raw part held in a gloved hand before it is prepped

Prep and base

The mirror is only ever as good as what is under it. The part is prepped and based until the surface is dead flat, because chrome shows every single thing you leave in it.

The chrome layer

The chrome goes down wet through the gun. This is the stage that separates a certified applicator from a hopeful one, and it is why the certification exists.

Tint and clear

Leave it as mirror, or lay a candy over the top and it becomes colored chrome. Then it gets cleared, which is what makes it something you can actually live with on a vehicle.

What we put it on

If it can be masked, it can be chromed.

The other certification

There is a glowing one too.

Cosmichrome and Lumilor often end up on the same build. Chrome the hard parts, light up the artwork, and you have something nobody else on the road has.
