This page covers empirehail.com only. It does not cover the shop itself, repair orders, insurance paperwork or anything you hand us in person.

What we collect

This site collects personal information in three places, and only when you fill one in:

• The estimate request form on the home page and the contact page: your name, phone number, email address, the vehicle or parts, the service you need, and anything you write in the message box.
• Online booking on the book an estimate page: the service, the day and time you pick, your name, phone number, email address, the vehicle, any notes, and any photos of the damage you choose to add.
• The mailing list in the footer of every page: your email address.

Every form also sends how long the page was open before you pressed send, which is how the site tells a person from a spam bot. The IP address a form comes from is used to stop the same network sending too many times in a row, and is held for about ten minutes for that.

You do not have to use any of it. You are welcome to ring the shop on 315-314-6774 instead, and nothing is recorded on this site when you do.

What happens to it

Estimate requests and mailing list signups are emailed to the shop inbox and answered from there. The email is sent through Postmark, a service that delivers email on our behalf. A copy of each one, with the IP address it came from, may be kept with our website host for up to one year so that nothing is lost if an email fails to arrive. It is deleted automatically after that.

Bookings are recorded in the shop's booking system, which Whitecap Data runs for us, so that your time is held and nobody else can take it. Then, through Postmark:

• you get a confirmation email with a link to change the time or cancel,
• the shop gets a copy with your details and any photos attached, and
• you get a reminder email the day before your estimate.

Your photos travel only as attachments on the shop's email. They are not stored in the booking system or on this website.

We use what you send to answer you, to prepare your estimate, and to send the mailing list to people who asked for it. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone outside the people who work on your vehicle and the services named on this page.

Hosting and other services

• Cloudflare hosts this website and runs its forms. Like any web host, it handles routine request information such as IP addresses for security and reliability.
• Postmark delivers the emails described above.
• Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on every page, so your browser fetches them from Google, which receives your IP address when it does.
• Google Maps draws the map on the home page and the contact page. When the map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies of its own, under Google's privacy policy.

Links to Sunbit financing, Facebook, Instagram, Viking Bags and Custom Offsets take you to their own websites, and their own privacy policies apply there. This site sends them nothing about you.

Cookies

There is no advertising, no cross-site tracking and no social media pixel anywhere on this site. The only cookie this site sets itself is the one that remembers your answer to the analytics question:

Matomo, the analytics tool described below, runs without cookies on this site, even after you accept. The consent cookie above is the only cookie this site sets.

You can change your mind at any time: open your cookie choices.

Analytics

When you first visit, we ask whether you are happy for us to use analytics. If you decline, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the analytics are never loaded and we remember only your choice. If your browser sends Do Not Track, nothing is recorded even if you accept.

Once you accept, we use Matomo to see which pages people find useful. It records the pages you view, where you arrived from, your browser and device, and an approximate location such as your region. It is not used to identify you personally.

• Matomo runs on a server operated by Whitecap Data, who look after this website, at matomo.whitecapdata.com. Nothing goes to an advertising network.
• The last two bytes of your IP address are masked before anything is stored, so it points to an area rather than a household.
• Query strings are stripped from the address of the page you came from.
• Raw visit data is deleted after 90 days. Summary reports, which are totals rather than individual visits, are kept for 25 months.
• There are no heatmaps and no session recordings.

Your choices

You can withdraw consent for analytics at any time using the cookie choices link here or in the footer of any page, and choose Decline. You can also ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask to come off the mailing list. Get in touch and we will take care of it.
