NanoPro ceramic coating

Protection that goes on once. A ceramic coating bonded to your paint here in the shop, registered to your vehicle's Carfax history, and backed by the manufacturer's warranty.

What it is

A coating, not a wax.

A ceramic coating goes on by hand as a liquid and cures into a hard, clear layer bonded to the clear coat. Wax sits on top of the paint and washes away in a few months. A coating stays, so water beads off, dirt lets go when you wash it, and the paint underneath is shielded from the sun and the weather.

NanoPro makes its coatings itself, in Florida, and supplies them only to installers it has trained and certified. Empire signed on in 2026, and Dave holds NanoPro's master's certification.

  • Guards against UV damage, fading, oxidation, loss of gloss, acid rain and bug etching
  • Made in the USA and sold only to certified installers
  • Registered to your vehicle's Carfax when the job is done
  • Empire is a NanoPro certified installer for coatings and liquid paint protection film

The top of the line

Borophene 4.0 Grand Master.

NanoPro's flagship coating. Boronsilicate quartz and Pyrex for durability that outlasts standard SiO2, a hydrophobic surface that sheds water and dirt, and heat resistance built for extreme conditions. One layer, applied by hand, with permanent protection and a lifetime warranty.

  • 40% higher gloss than standard SiO2 coatings
  • 3,000 degree heat resistance
  • Hydrophobic surface that repels water, dirt and contaminants

How it goes

Correct it, coat it, register it.

A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, good or bad. So most of the job is getting the paint right before a drop of coating touches it.

01

The paint is corrected first

Swirls, haze and light scratches are machine polished out. NanoPro asks for that on anything more than three months old, and paint correction is already what the detail department here does every day.

02

The coating goes on in the shop

Applied by hand, panel by panel, indoors and out of the weather while it cures. NanoPro's top coatings are made to do the job in a single layer.

03

It goes on the Carfax

When the job is done it is registered to your vehicle's Carfax as part of its history, which the warranty needs within 30 days. Anyone who buys the car later can see it was coated.

For the stone chips

Paint protection film, in liquid form.

Empire is also certified and authorized for NanoPro LPF, a paint protection film that goes on as a liquid and cures into a solid, flexible film. Ordinary film comes on a roll and has to be cut to fit, tucked and stretched. LPF has nothing to cut, so there are no edges to lift.

It is the layer that takes the hits from the road, which is why people usually put it on the front end: the hood, fenders, bumper and mirrors.

Front end or the full vehicle No cutting or templates 10 year warranty from NanoPro

Worth knowing: any paint protection film can still chip if a stone hits hard enough. A chip is the film doing its job, and it is not a product failure under NanoPro's terms.

The warranty

Backed by NanoPro, kept going by a yearly visit.

How long the warranty runs depends on the coating you choose, from three years up to lifetime cover on NanoPro's Borophene and Borograph coatings. LPF carries 10 years on its own, and NanoPro extends it when the film is topped with one of those two coatings. We will go through which one suits your car at the estimate.

What it asks of you

An inspection here once a year, within 30 days either side of the anniversary. It is a wash, a decontamination, a gloss renewal and a look over, and there is a charge for it, which we will tell you up front. Miss it and the warranty ends, so put it in the calendar.

How to look after it

Wash it every couple of weeks, by hand or through a touchless wash, and dry it rather than letting water sit. Brush car washes are ruled out. Hard water left to dry can leave spots, and spots are not covered.

What it does not cover

Scratches, swirls, chips, water spots, and damage from collisions, stones or hail. A coating protects the finish, it does not stop dents. That part is still our day job.

Questions people ask

The ones that come up at the counter.

Anything not covered here, ring the shop or ask at the estimate.

NanoPro calls it permanent. What does that mean?

NanoPro's Borophene and Borograph coatings are made to stay on the paint after a single layer, rather than wearing away the way a wax or a spray sealant does. In warranty terms that is lifetime cover, as long as the car comes in for its yearly inspection and is looked after the way the care instructions say.

What does the Carfax registration do?

It records the coating as part of your vehicle's history, the same place service and repair work shows up. It is also a condition of the warranty, and it is done within 30 days of the job. When you sell the car, the next owner can see it was coated.

Will it stop scratches and stone chips?

No coating stops a scratch or a chip, and NanoPro's warranty says so. What a coating does is keep the finish from fading, oxidizing and dulling, and make it far easier to keep clean. If stone chips are the worry, that is what LPF is for, usually on the front end.

Can I still use a car wash?

Touchless, yes. Brush car washes are the one thing to stay away from, because they scratch the surface and the warranty does not cover that damage. A hand wash every couple of weeks, dried off afterwards, is what NanoPro recommends.

What if the car is in an accident?

Any panel that is repaired or repainted has to be coated again by a certified installer within 30 days to keep the warranty, at the owner's or the insurer's cost. That is one place a body shop with its own coating certification makes life easier: the repair and the recoat happen under the same roof.

What happens if something goes wrong with the coating?

Tell us within 30 days of noticing it. Claims are decided by NanoPro, and the remedy under its terms is either a repair or retreatment by a certified installer, or a refund of the application cost up to $500. The full terms are linked above.

Can I buy it and do it myself?

No. NanoPro supplies its coatings only to certified installers, and it asks for at least two years of paint correction experience before it will train a shop. The result depends on the prep as much as the bottle.

What will it cost?

It depends on the size of the vehicle, how much correction the paint needs, and which coating you choose. Ring the shop or book an estimate, and we will give you a number on your vehicle.

Bring it by, and we will look at the paint.

A coating quote starts with the paint itself: how much correction it needs, and what you want the car protected from. That takes a few minutes in person.
